Our Department

Department of Logistics is a part of Faculty of Business Administration.

Its main focus is placed on development of Logistics, Supply Chain Management and International Transport and Freight Forwarding programs in pedagogical and research fields. In both areas concepts of European Logistics Association (ELA), European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA) are followed.

Department members are in close relationship with managers of many important companies operating in the area of logistic services, transport, industry and trade.

Knowledge being conveyed to students corresponds to the above mentioned programs. The department provides lectures and seminars in bachelor and master programs. In bachelor program Business Economy and Management, the faculty compulsory course that provides elementary knowledge which inevitably belongs to know how of each manager in business environment. In master program minor specialization Logistics – International Transport and Freight Forwarding prepares experts for managerial logistics positions in wide range of companies. Within the minor specialization selective students could participate in a 6 month internship in DHL UK. The minor specialization is compliant with the requirements of ELA certification and other educational programs such as of FIATA and International Road Transport Union (IRU).

Alternative application of logistics is provided in Arts Management program that aims at the management of organizations operating in the area of culture.

Logistics, lectured by members of the departments, is also incorporated into the honourable program called Honours Academia that is targeted at talented students of the Prague University of Economics and Business.

Department of Logistics is also responsible for supervision of doctoral thesis dedicated to logistics, transport and freight forwarding topics. Logistics Management is also one of the course involved in doctoral study program.

Department members participate on research of topics related to logistics, supply chain management, transport and freight forwarding, transport and logistic infrastructure and suprastructure.

Department of Logistics is a member of Czech Logistic Association (member of ELA) and also Association of Freight Forwarders and Logistics in the Czech Republic.
