The meeting of Maritime Club of the Association of Forwarding and Logistics of the Czech Republic

On 4 December 2019, a meeting of the Working Group of the Maritime Club of the Association of Forwarding and Logistics of the Czech Republic (SSL ČR) was held in the Education Center of the University of Pardubice in Prague. The Department of Logistics is an associate member of SSL ČR and its representatives regularly attend meetings of working groups composed of managers in business practice. With the participation of Ing. Petr Kolář, Ph.D., a presentation of the latest statistical data of the port of Hamburg was made by Ing. Vladimír Doboš, Head of the Prague Representation of Hafen Hamburg Marketing in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Also, they presented with representatives of the port administration of Gdynia, Poland. Of particular interest was the part concerning bold investment plans and Polish port projects in the ferry and container sector. This was followed by a presentation by the manager of Unifeeder, the shipping company. The content focused on the issue of competitiveness of the Short Sea in relation to direct road transport. The presentation of the representative of the Maersk Line shipowner was followed by a relatively pointless and short discussion regarding the introduction of IMO Sulfur 2020 into the business practice. Subsequently, the railway operators, headed by Metrans, also got the space to speak.
